In Mr. Bret Hunter’s BITA II class, Sam Thawley and Mekhi Walker gather tools in order to begin smoothing out the edges of the sneeze guards Oct. 9. The BITA program worked on making “Sneeze Guards” that would prevent the spread of COVID-19 while providing a clear barrier that can be used to safely interact with others. The design was made in a collaborative approach with the Rocklin District Operations and the BITA students. “I was trying to find the deburring tool to remove all the burrs from the sneeze guard. The tools crib is usually very organized so it is easy to find the tools we need, but comparing the tools makes it hard because it makes you doubt as to which one to choose,” Walker said. At the start of practice, the JV team lines up to start running drills Oct. 6. Players were placed in pods of 10 and they rotate between three stations over the course of practice. They spend 30 minutes with Coach John Pichon in the weight room, 30 minutes with Coach Nick French and Coach Shawn Andrews in the main gym working on fundamentals, and then 30 minutes with Coach Alex Anderson and Coach Chris Purdy working on shooting and attacking the basket.
