Apple Music brings unique, striking components

As Apple continues to introduce new technological advancements, the most striking is Apple Music. Introduced June 8, this app is a live music station that works 24 hours a day to bring a wide variety of artists to listeners. An article by Fortune states that in October, 6.5 million customers were paying for Apple Music and 8.5 million were still in the three month free trial.

When the app was first introduced I had no interest in paying $9.99 for it because I already had Spotify and Soundcloud. The app to me just seemed like another bill I had to pay right beside Netflix. However, as I researched more into the app I began to see how Apple Music would rise above the other music apps.

The app contains 30 million songs from artists all around the world. There is an option to Connect with artists where you can follow them and it will give you a background look into their music. Another unique component to the app is, Radio. When you click on the radio section it gives you hundreds of genres to choose from such as Pure Pop all the way to ESPN News and Sports.

My favorite part of this app, however, is how you can go through all the albums and songs in the world and you can start to make a playlist. SoundCloud offers the playlist option, but it’s impossible to find songs that weren’t uploaded illegally. Now with Apple Music, I don’t have to worry about not being able to find a specific song because all of an artist’s albums are there in just a simple find and search.

I then started to test Apple Music with the free three month trial and I instantly fell in love. Deleting the SoundCloud and Spotify app and clearing more space off my phone was worth it after I saw all the music variety this app offered. I listen to music every day and with Apple Music I can find new music to add to my playlist.

One improvement I would like to see happen with this app is keeping the $9.99 the only price I would have to pay while I’m using it. Apple offers a $14.99 package that is a family pack where six people can listen to unlimited music on their devices. Although I understand that the price would go up to accommodate more users, $9.99 should be reasonable to be paid every month for multiple users.

After my three month trial I started to pay for the $9.99 individual deal and I can honestly say that it has been the best purchase I have made in a while. If you like to listen to a wide variety of music with unique combinations incorporated into it, Apple Music is the one for you.
