Attending junior prom leads to preparation, fun
Junior prom happens once a year and this year it fell on Saturday, April 18th.
“It only took me like 5 minutes to find a dress,” Ally Patterson said.
Just like homecoming, junior prom takes lots of preparations and plans; you have to decide who you’re going with.
“I’m going with a date but also in a group with my friends,” Patterson said.
When it comes to the dresses for junior prom there are lots of different designs and styles to choose from.
“I got a strapless long dress with jewels, I wasn’t really going to get a nice dress because it’s not my prom,” Patterson said.
There’s more to junior prom then finding a dress though.
“I’m going to get my nails done and also my makeup done by my aunt who is an makeup artist,” Quetzal Garcia McGivney said.
Instead of looking in a store for a dress like Ally did, McGivney opted to purchase hers online.
“I wanted anything affordable or simple, so i bought my dress on a cheap site, it was easy,” McGivney said.
The girls aren’t the only ones who have to dress up for junior prom.
“I prepared for junior prom by just ordering everything I needed early,” Zach Murdoch said.
When it comes to transportation, there are lots of different ways to get to prom.
“I’m going with a group with all my friends, but some are taking separate cars,” Murdoch said.
When looking for something to wear for junior prom, “It was pretty easy to rent and find my tux, I got mine at Men’s Warehouse, they help you out a lot there,” Murdoch said.
Not only juniors can go to junior prom.
Juren Porras said, “I went and got a tux then got a corsage for the lady. Since i’m a sophomore I had to get invited by a junior so I am just going along with her group. The tux wasn’t really hard to find, I bought mine and I got it within a week. I wasn’t feeling Mens Warehouse style so I went to Tuxedo Den in Citrus Heights. I found a fresh looking jacket and the rest is history.”
