“Dumb and Dumber To” leaves audience unsatisfied
Although it had its moments, I can honestly say that “Dumb and Dumber To” was a complete waste of time and money. It was a major letdown, especially for someone who was a huge fan of the first movie.
“Dumb and Dumber To” was released Nov. 14, is 109 minutes long and is rated PG-13.
The movie starts off with a mute and motionless Lloyd (Jim Carrey) in a disability care home. His faithful side-kick Harry (Jeff Daniels) who has visited him there for the last 20 years only to find out that Lloyd was fine and was just playing a joke on Harry. Harry, who is in need of a new kidney, finds out he has a daughter. Lloyd and Harry then set out to find her in hope that she’ll give him a new kidney.
The first “Dumb and Dumber” was funny because of how stupid Lloyd and Harry were portrayed to be and the ridiculous situations they tended to find themselves in.
You would think that because they had 20 years to make this sequel that it would be a great comedy movie to go see with the family, but that was sadly not the case. The movie had some crude humor that made it inappropriate for younger children and uncomfortable to watch with parents.
Aside from that the jokes in the movie were beyond stupid, such as the fart wars, and I found myself laughing more when making fun of the movie than at the actual jokes in this “comedy”. There were some funny moments, such as when Harry finds out he’s adopted, but they were few and far in between, and the movie felt like it dragged on and wouldn’t end. It was extremely disappointing.
“Dumb and Dumber To” is a movie I wouldn’t recommend to anyone and definitely wouldn’t see again.
