The Germans’ gold in Rio World Cup

In FIFA history Germany has an amazing track record with 3 acclaimed titles under their belt and being ranked 2nd overall in the world. This year Germany has the chance to go for gold, but fierce competition makes the road to first place a challenging one. However even with these challenges, Germany’s chance a gold is a solid one.

Germany’s new players, such as Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller have a lot of promise going into their second FIFA, after stellar performances in 2010 world cup, with Muller winning the Adidas golden boot from the Best Young Player’s competition last soccer season.

Of course, veteran player Manuel Neuer has received constant recognition as the leading keeper in FIFA so far, surpassing previous stars such as Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann. With Germany’s newer players and veteran all-stars, they have a serious shot in the upcoming World Cup.

Their main competition is in the hosting country, Brazil which is putting on its “A” game this year to get gold in their home country. They are dishing out their best offensive front liners such as the young star, Neymar da Silva Santos, who (if he wins) will win his 5th gold title at only 22 years of age. Brazil’s Robson de Souza (more commonly known as “Robinho”) has great promise as a winger, as well as great chemistry with Santos in the frontline.

Although the competition may be stiff, Germany’s coach, Jaochim Löw’s (aka Jogi) coaching method almost won his team gold in South Africa, and is sure to bring his over 30 years of experience in soccer to get gold in Rio.

In my opinion, with all these factors going for them, the Germans’ chance at victory is one that can be easily achieved with their coaching, players, and overall chemistry as a team.
