Top 5 Purchases of 2013
1.Proactive
To start off my list, one favorite thing I bought was a face wash, Proactiv. Its a simple and basic item, but it really is a lifesaver. In the middle of May my face started to break out with blemishes and acne marks and I knew my normal face wash wasn’t gonna help it get any better. So, I did some online research about which face wash is best for teens. After a bit of searching, I saw Proactive had the best results. So I saved my allowance, and made the purchase! Ever since buying it my face has been relatively clear. If there is ever a blemish forming I use the free refining mask they provide for free. Using this product twice a day really makes a difference!
2. “Pure Heroine” by Lorde
My fourth favorite item I purchased in 2013 was the album “Pure Heroine” by Lorde. This album was released in late September on Youtube, Soundcloud and iTunes. I was familiar with Lorde by hearing her hit singles “Team” and “Tennis Court” that are played on the radio. The hits were on all the time so I became interested in here and soon became a big fan of her music. When the album came out I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to hear more. The day it came out I bought it on iTunes and was very pleased with my purchase. My favourite songs on the album are “Tennis Court” and “White Teeth Teens”. What I like about Lorde’s music is that it’s different. She doesn’t sing about relationships in any of her songs. She sings about the realities of life where most artists in the music industry don’t. In all purchasing this album made my year more enjoyable.
3. Shoes
The third element I bought that made it to my list was a pair of shoes. After getting money for Christmas I knew I needed a new pair of Vans. I knew I didn’t another pair of want the normal Vans so I did some research. I ended up picking out the black and white, Suede/Canvas Sk8-Hi pair! I was very happy buying these shoes because I bought them with my own money. I feel like if my parents bought them I wouldn’t appreciate them as much. This pair of shoes made me come to reality that one day my parents won’t buy everything for me so I will start appreciating things more than I did before. In the end, this pair of shoes was more than a purchase to me, it was a lesson.
4. 5 Seconds of Summer Tickets
The runner-up is, 5 seconds of summer concert tickets! It was in July, just three days after my birthday when I found out one of my favourite bands was going to do a concert in California. I knew getting the tickets would be very tough because there were only 500 tickets available, because they were playing at a small venue. But when the day came the tickets went on sale I got all the computers in my house and hoped for the best. I waited 30 minutes after the tickets for the page to load and I knew I wasn’t going to get them. But a few minutes later the page loaded and I got them! I was so pleased with my purchase because I would see my favourite band perform and I would get to meet them. Being able to see them perform live and meet them was an amazing experience.
5. One Direction Tickets
Here it is, my best buy of 2013 was buying One Direction concert tickets! I was aware that the band was going on a 2014 stadium tour so I knew I had to go, already have going to their past two tours they have headlined. The day the tickets went available I was super scared. My mom wasn’t home to help me choose what seats to get and I really didn’t want to make the wrong decision. I ended up getting two seats, on the elevated floor in the 12th row. I knew I could’ve got better seats but, I didn’t want to risk losing these ones. $153.80 later, I was guaranteed that I would be seeing One Direction live in Pasadena on September 13, 2014! Buying these tickets make me look forward to the new year and what it has to offer! All in all, this purchase made me the happiest fangirl on the planet because I get to see the raddest boy band ever.
