Top 5 things I learned on the Internet
5. Blobfish are real
Up until Dec. of 2013 I had no idea that there is such thing as a blobfish. My sister told me to google the ugliest fish and the blobfish came up. It looks exactly like someone just threw it down and added a pair of eyes.
4. How to draw a baby bottle
WikiHow really came through for me when I was writing a card for a baby shower and figured out that the all the words were on one side of the card. While my mom drove, I hurriedly drew the bottle with only two highlighters to add color, like the website directed. When the recipient opened the card, she told me with a smile that she loved the drawing.
3. Everything about One Direction
Although I never wanted to learn all about One Direction, the internet had my back. I was able to write my journalism paper and learn some really useless, but funny, trivia. Now I can confidently tell you that Zayn has a fiancee and that there are a lot of blogs dedicated to One Direction.
2. How to make a picture using a graphing website
My math project was to make a picture by graphing different equations. It took me a good three days to figure out how to use the website, but when I did understand it became fun. Thirteen equations later and I was able to make the water move up and down like waves. When I had made 20 graphs, I had a picture of a smiling man boating through the choppy waves. Although it does not sound that impressive, it was probably the most beautiful sight I had ever seen after two weeks of working on that picture.
1. The difference between jam and jelly
This fact is not that pertinent to my education or health, but it answered a life long question. When my sister’s friend came baring the gift of jam, it sparked a long and quite ridiculous debate over the difference. We could not figure it out amongst ourselves and thus turned to Google. Jelly is, in fact, made from fruit juice while jam is made from fruit pulp or crushed fruit.
