Sleeping With Sirens is back again with their newest leaked single “Low” off of their new album, “Feel,” that has now been released on June 4. Once “Low” was leaked, more songs slowly started to come out one by one, such as “Free now,” “Alone,” “Sorry,” “Satellites,” “These things I’ve done,” “Deja vu,” and “Feel.”
It all started once their hit single “Low” was leaked all over YouTube on April 22, then on iTunes. This song explains a lot of the thick and thin throughout a relationship. “Should I use my heart? Or my head? I wish that I could just turn back the time. Start over again.” This piece of lyrics explains how one person was tearing the other person down, while trying to understand that they didn’t let go or listen about certain things that made them lose who they really love. It’s how two people have the courage to stand up for themselves and stop letting a person make you feel “low” and really stopping them from manipulating you.
This song has very strong meaning to it and can relate to people in many different ways. It’s something a bit different, yet unique coming from Sleeping With Sirens.
However, there is one song off of the album that has created numerous amounts of controversy. Their song “Alone” featuring Machine Gun Kelly was a major shock when it was released May 20. You have Sleeping With Sirens, who is a post-hardcore band with Machine Gun Kelly, who is a hip-hop artist/rapper. The song isn’t all too bad, however, the mix of post-hardcore and rap doesn’t go so well together. The lyrics have powerful meaning, and would have sounded much better without MGK.
Personally, one of the best songs off of the album would have to be “Free Now.” “I wrote this song for my mother, wrote this song for our father. So hopefully we can come together .And hopefully make things a little better.” This song relates to anyone who has ever had a bad relationship with their parents and feel as if they keep trying and trying to make situations better. It’s a very calming, yet upbeat piece. It’s one of those songs that really makes you think.
Compared to Sleeping With Sirens’ previous albums, this one has a different vibe to it, making the band sound better than ever.
All of their songs from their album “Feel” flow together really well. This album is to be one of the best yet.
