With spring coming up, a shift toward fresh and radiant fragrances follows. With the change in seasons, I like to embrace fragrances that reflect that change: light, floral and timeless. I have selected four perfumes that perfectly capture the essence of spring, balancing sweetness, floral elegance and a touch of warmth.
Good Girl Blush Elixir is a richer, more floral version of the original Good Girl Blush, featuring a blend of vanilla, rose and patchouli. When sprayed, a slight hint of citrus is evident before settling into a floral scent that feels luxurious, making it ideal for both day and evening wear. I find it very long-lasting, with wear time being around eight to 10 hours. This fragrance is my personal favorite and a standout choice for this spring.
- Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl ($141).
Very Good Girl is the perfect perfume with hints of vibrant fruit and delicate floral notes. The fragrance starts off with sweet and tart red currant. Then, the lychee gives an immediate freshness. As it dries down, the rose becomes more prominent before transitioning to a balance of a smooth vanilla and vetiver base. This fragrance lasts me eight to 10 hours, just like the Good Girl Blush Elixir. It’s an easy-to-wear fragrance, ideal for casual outings or springtime brunches.
- Dior J’adore ($138).
J’adore is a timeless fragrance that embodies sophistication and grace, a classic that never goes out of style. The best way I can describe this perfume is like a bouquet of white florals. It features jasmine, ylang-ylang and magnolia. Its soft, golden scent feels like flowers in a bottle, capturing the essence of a spring morning. J’adore’s longevity is impressive, lasting up to 10 hours, making it a reliable choice for all-day wear. Whether for school, a special event or everyday elegance, this fragrance is a must-have for spring. Upperclassmen including Cate Jamison and Larissa Villagomez reach for this perfume for special occasions such as Prom.
“It gives off very luxurious and darker vibes which would definitely go with the dress I’m planning to wear,” Jamison said.
Villagomez also appreciates how effortlessly it compliments any outfit with its elegant and versatile appeal.
“It is very classy and matches with everything,” Villagomez said. “You can never go wrong with it.”
- Versace Bright Crystal ($110).
Versace Bright Crystal is the perfect fresh and airy scent for warmer days. The fragrance opens with juicy pomegranate and citrus, followed by a delicate floral heart of peony and magnolia. Its composition is centered around white florals like jasmine and ylang-ylang, with a slightly fruity undertone that adds warmth and radiance. The light touch makes it refreshing without being overwhelming. Although it’s a softer fragrance with a longevity of around five-to-six hours, it’s an easy-to-love scent that works beautifully in the springtime.
Each of these perfumes brings something unique to spring, whether it’s the rich florals of Good Girl Blush Elixir or the fresh lightness of Bright Crystal. I prefer long-lasting scents, so J’adore and Very Good Girl stand out to me, but all of these have their own appeal depending on the occasion.
