Throughout the past 60 years, the sports drink industry has seen a rapid increase in consumer popularity and sales. Gatorade was the main drink that everyone bought when they wanted hydration as an athlete. However, in 2022 Gatorade was introduced to a new competitor — Prime, and today we interviewed three people to see which is superior.
The rising sports drink known as Prime skyrocketed worldwide in January 2022. The two minds who came up with Prime are Logan Paul, a famous professional boxer, and Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, also known as KSI, who is also a well-known professional boxer and influencer. The two boxing rivals teamed up and set their differences aside and created Prime, to make an affordable sports drink that is also healthy, similar to Gatorade.
Gatorade was released back in 1965 by Dr. Robert Cade and his team of scientists at the University of Florida. They wanted to create Gatorade for athletes suffering from heart-related illnesses.
Prime is one of the fastest-growing beverages in history. You might think it’s terrible for you, but you would be wrong. Prime has only 2 grams of sugar and 25 calories,“I would choose Prime, probably because it’s healthier and has less sugars,” Matteus Ramos said. However, since Prime is such a new drink, its trustworthiness is controversial.
“I feel like it’s [Gatorade] more trustworthy than Prime, because Prime is owned by two YouTubers who think they know what they’re doing,” Jaxon Green said.
Next up is Gatorade, Gatorade is one of the most popular sports drinks in the U.S.
Gatorade has 34 grams of sugar, which is crazy compared to Prime. Even though Gatorade is much higher in sugar than Prime, it seems that others seem to look at Gatorade as more trustworthy.
“Gatorade [is healthier] because I just know electrolytes and Prime I haven’t heard much about,” Madison Mitchell said.
With such strong control over the sports drink industry, it’s disappointing to see Gatorade perform so poorly compared to Prime. Additionally, if you want the best hydration drink, your best choice would be water, electrolyte water or coconut water. Prime and Gatorade are both unhealthy, sugar-filled beverages that continue to ruin the health of millions every day.
