After finding a spark of inspiration from her sports marketing class, Paige Hall created her own business to publicize her photography and video content through Paige Productionz.
Hall is constantly motivated by her passion for creating art through the lens of her camera and has allowed it to expand through her business.
“I started earlier this year and I really loved taking videos and working with all the sports teams, so I decided to create my own business out of it,” Hall said. “I’ve been trying to get out to different high schools, and I just started going to colleges.”
Through her love for video, Hall finds herself wanting to learn more and collaborate with others to gain knowledge on how to further improve the content she produces.
“I do like taking pictures, but I really love videos because I create a little movie for people,” Hall said. “I’ve reached out to a lot of people online through Instagram, like college people that do this. I have a group of [professional] people that I text every week with questions because I just love their work, and they were kind enough to respond to help me.”
Business Management teacher Mr. Alex Anderson has watched Hall walk through every step of creating her business. Anderson has seen Hall’s passion drive her through starting and growing her business.
“I’d like to think I helped inspire her as her teacher, but she’s got a lot of her drive and expectations and things that she does on her own, so I help her along the way as best I can,” Anderson said. “When it comes to her running [Paige Productionz], if she has a question she can ask me, and we collaborate from time to time, but 99 percent of the business is just her on her own, figuring it out as she goes.”
Though Hall has had success in her new business, she has faced challenges when finding her place in the world of sports marketing.
“People are really mean,” Hall said. “Athletes do not take you seriously, or they take advantage of you, and I feel like communicating with athletes is really hard because the typical athlete stereotype is very true.”
Hall wishes to continue and expand her skills as she begins to prepare for the next chapter of her life and business.
“I know she’s aspiring to get her footing in at whatever college she goes to and work with the athletic departments,” Anderson said. “She’s had some really good conversations with the University of Oregon and Boise State and is looking to continue to pursue this path once she gets to college.”
