‘Monster Energy Supercross:The Official Videogame’ requires major focus with its realistic gameplay

If you’re a fan of racing games, then “Monster Energy Supercross:The Official Videogame” is the game for you.

This game is based off the real life Monster Energy AMA Supercross World Championship. This consists of seventeen races all over the US in places such as Anaheim, San Diego, Seattle, Las Vegas and many more. There’s two classes consisting of the 450’s and 250’s East and West. Each race a rider gets a certain amount of points based on their final position they finish in. In order to do this riders must go through qualifying, heat races, and if necessary a LCQ, or last chance qualifier, in order to race in the main event in which you earn points. At the end of the seventeen race season the rider with the most points wins the championship and gets the red number one plate to start off the next season.

“Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame”  made by the software company Milestone S.r.l. is an excellent game that has revived the motocross gaming community. This game is out on platforms such as Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. On the Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC it could be bought for $59.99 or the Special Edition can be bought for $69.99 which includes the season pass, a credits multiplier, themed riding gear, and additional icons and buttpatches. On mobile devices this game is free, but consists of in-app purchases which can add up to $50.00.

There is single player, multiplayer, and more game modes. In single player there are single event races which is just one quick race on a track of your choice. Also there’s time attack which essentially is just practicing on any track trying to beat your best lap time on that track. Then there is the most commonly played game mode which is the career mode.

In this career mode you pick a bike of your choice and which class you want to be in, the 450 class, 250 West class, or the 250 East class. In this game mode you can earn sponsors such as Oakley, GoPro, Alpinestars and many more which gives you more in game currency that you can use to buy other types of motorcycles or other riding gear. Depending on which class you’re in you’ll race the normal season for that class.

Online you can join lobbies with other people around the world that’s a single event race, championship or anything of your choice. You can also create a lobby of your own and play with just your friends if you’d prefer that instead. There is also an online leaderboard in which each track shows the fastest lap times all around the world.

The newest feature added is the track editor. In the track editor you can customize and build your own track in any way you’d like and upload it online for anyone to play. You could also have races with your friends on these tracks that you build.

Although there is all these great game modes, there are some flaws and errors with this game. There are some minor glitches with this game, but the makers and editors could easily fix them. Some of the tracks are broken and when your racing on them it believes you’re off the track and resets you causing you to lose plenty of time and multiple rider positions. Also a really big glitch is that when your racing online and you pass your opponent after already being ahead of them, or overlap them, when you finish the race and they haven’t been lapped by the person in second or third it will say they have finished the race before the other riders although they are in dead last.

There are these glitches, but in my opinion this is the best and my personal favorite supercross videogame ever made. The controls are much more realistic, the graphics are great, and it’s overall just a really fun game. If I were to rate this game on a scale from one through ten then I’d rate it a nine. This game has been out since February 13th and I have already spent more than twenty hours on it and I plan to spend many more hours on it. “Monster Energy Supercross:The Official Videogame” is a great video game and I’d recommend to anyone who likes racing games to buy it.
