‘The Death Cure’ is a fantastic finish to ‘The Maze Runner’ trilogy
After recently watching “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” I was strongly impressed with the movie overall. “The Maze Runner” has been my favorite series since the first movie came out in 2014. The 2 hour and 23 minute science fiction film is rated PG-13. Along with all the three movies in the series I have also enjoyed reading the books.
“The Maze Runner” series is based off of the trilogy revolving around a boy named Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) who is immune to a plague like disease called The Flare. The whole world is being destroyed and Thomas and his friends such as Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), Minho (Ki Hong Lee), and my personal favorite character Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), are some of the only immunes left. An evil group called W.C.K.D is constantly trying to capture Thomas and his friends, so they can find a cure. “The Death Cure” is the last movie in the series and ends in a bang. It has a very similar ending to the book. Newt is Thomas’ closest friend. The film shows a deeper look at their relationship, really captivating the brotherhood between them. The acting and emotion in the final scenes were what really made the movie for me. The sadness, love, and rejoice really made the fans emotional. The movies and books are personally some of my favorite and I was greatly pleased with the production and Wes Ball’s directing efforts.
I would rate this movie a 10/10. Of all of the three movies this has to be my favorite from the amazing acting to the suspenseful storyline. The newest ‘Maze Runner,’ is definitely one of my new favorite movies. After reading the books and seeing the other movies I had high expectations for this one, and once again was very pleased with the result. I strongly recommend seeing this movie in any theatre near you, and bring your tissues, because if you love the characters like I do, you might shed a few tears as well.
