The baseball program gears up for the season
The men’s baseball program met to have their first conditioning Jan. 12. The team will condition on Mondays at 1 p.m., then Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 p.m. until the week of tryouts which start Feb.5. The conditioning started with stretching and base running as a warm-up. Then, it became more technique based. They broke up into upperclassmen and lowerclass men and did stations including abs, cardio and footwork to improve their skills. Then the team transitioned to more complex exercises that also required some props such as ladders, mats, weighted balls and cowbells. Towards the end, they broke into teams where they raced to see which team could carry a mat and a tire across the blacktop the fastest.
