Whitney High Student Media tours downtown Seattle, attends JEA/NSPA spring convention
On April 5-8, 4,ooo journalism students came together at the Sheraton Hotel and Washington Convention Center in Seattle, Washington for the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention to improve their publications by going to classes and workshops, competing in photography, design and writing contests, and entering national competitions for best yearbook, magazine, newspaper, newsmagazine, and website.
As for Whitney High Student Media, Details yearbook placed eighth in the Best of Show competition, The Roar Newsmagazine placed first in the newsmagazine category and fifth in the Special Edition Newsmagazine category. In the individual Write-off contests, six Whitney High Student Media students placed, including an Excellent medal for Britney Flint in a design contest.
